Terms and Conditions

Assessment Details and Fees

A full diagnostic dyslexia assessment takes approximately 3 hours and includes a comprehensive written report with personalised recommendations.

  • Fee: £550

  • Booking: A £100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your assessment slot.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the assessment.

Before the Assessment

To ensure we can complete a thorough and accurate assessment, the following must be completed in advance:

  • An up-to-date eye test:
You (or your child) should have had a standard vision check within the last 18 months.

  • Background questionnaires:
You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. If the assessment is for a child, parents and schools will also be asked to complete background questionnaires. These help us build a full picture of learning history and current needs.

Important: All documents must be received at least one week before the assessment. If anything is missing, we may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Reports and Diagnosis

  • We may be able to share initial observations on the day, but full results and any diagnosis will only be confirmed after detailed analysis of all assessment data.

  • You will receive a detailed written report (usually 25–30 pages) within 2 weeks.

  • This report will confirm whether the criteria for a diagnosis of dyslexia are met, and include clear, personalised recommendations for support at home, school, university, or in the workplace.

  • A follow-up phone call can be arranged to talk through the results if needed.

  • We strongly recommend keeping your report safe, as it may be needed throughout education or working life.

  • If a diagnosis is confirmed, it is lifelong and recognised under UK disability and equality laws.

Please note: A diagnosis is not guaranteed. The assessment must follow strict professional guidelines, and a diagnosis can only be given if the relevant criteria are clearly met.

Regardless of the outcome, a full assessment is highly valuable. The report will give you (or your child) a better understanding of strengths and areas for support, which can be helpful in learning, work, and daily life.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please follow the policy below:

  • 7 Days’ Notice: Please give at least 7 days’ notice to cancel or move your appointment.

  • Less Than 7 Days’ Notice: A charge of 50% of the full fee may apply.

  • Same Day Cancellation or missed appointment: The full fee will be charged.

  • Illness or Emergencies:
If something unexpected happens (like illness or a family emergency), please contact us as soon as possible. Exceptions may be made at the assessor’s discretion.

  • If We Need to Cancel:
If we need to cancel (e.g. due to illness), we will offer a new date or a full refund if rescheduling isn’t possible.

Confidentiality

All information shared during the assessment process is treated with strict confidentiality and is used only to carry out the assessment and write the report.

We will not share your information with anyone else without your written consent, unless legally required to do so or in the case of safeguarding concerns.

How We Store Information

  • Once the final report is sent, all raw test data, score sheets, and notes are securely destroyed.

  • The final report is stored securely:

    • Until age 24, if the individual was under 18 at the time of assessment.

    • For six years, if the individual was 18 or older at the time of assessment.

  • After this period, all records are permanently deleted, and we will no longer be able to provide a copy.

For full details on how we handle data, please see our Privacy Policy on the website.

If you have any questions about these terms or the assessment process, please get in touch.
