Assessments can be conducted for children over 8 years old, teenagers, and adults. It’s never too late to seek an assessment if you suspect dyslexia or want clarity on learning difficulties.

3. How long does the assessment take?
Typically, the assessment lasts approximately 3 hours with breaks included where necessary.

It can be helpful in informing support strategies in educational settings, applications for access arrangements, or workplace adjustments. While each organisation has its own policies, the report follows professional standards and can be used to guide support planning

9. What if my child or I find the assessment stressful?
We understand that assessments can be challenging. We create a supportive and relaxed environment, and breaks can be taken as needed.

10. How do I prepare for the assessment?
No special preparation is needed. Just ensure the individual is well rested and bring any relevant previous reports or documentation if requested. Ensure the background questionnaires have been completed and returned and an eye test and hearing test have been carried out recently.

11. What if the outcome is not a diagnosis of dyslexia?

If the assessment does not indicate dyslexia, the report will still provide valuable insights into learning strengths and areas of difficulty. We can discuss other possible explanations and recommend strategies or referrals to support learning and development.
