Exam Access Arrangements
(EAA)
EAAs can only be granted if they reflect the student’s normal way of working and there is a history of need.
It is the school’s responsibility to decide which EAAs to apply for and to make the application to the awarding body.
Schools must also complete the necessary paperwork and meet the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) deadline.
Private EAA Assessments
A private assessment can help identify which adjustments may be suitable. However, JCQ regulations state that:
The school must authorise the assessment before it takes place, and
The school must provide certain documentation to the assessor in advance
Without this, the results of a private EAA assessment may not be accepted by the school or exam board.
UK Dyslexia offer this sevice for both private clients and schools.
